Melanie Kay (Instructor)

melk

Melanie trained and worked as a professional dancer.

Trained from the age of 2 and started training professionally at the tender age of 16 at the London Studio Centre in Kings Cross. This was where she first came into contact with Pilates and its benefits.

She had a varied dance career from dancing with Robbie Williams, Martine McCutcheon and The Osmonds, to touring with the Paris Can Can, Spirit of the dance and cruising the world aboard luxury liners. At just 15 years old she performed the lead role of 'Jo' in Little Women with the National Youth Ballet at Sadler Wells. During one particular contract she was introduced to Aerial skills and became hooked!

Having settled back in the UK she now enjoys a varied schedule, teaching adults tap, babies ballet and of course Steve Jordan Pilates.

She believes in keeping up regular Pilates training especially as hanging from the ceiling from a strip of polyester requires engagement of every muscle available!

She is a CYQ level 3 pilates instructor from the Pilates Institute.

Melanie also runs Zenith Dance classes in Greenwich, for adults and children.
